Grants & Community Initiatives Manager Announced for Community Foundation

Please join us in welcoming Marc Hooks, Grants & Community Initiatives Manager, to the DeKalb County Community Foundation staff. Marc began his new role on August 27 after a summertime search for the newest Community Foundation staff member initiated by the departure of Grants Manager Becky Zantout in May.

Marc brings a variety of project management experience to his role, having worked in both the government and nonprofit sector, including serving as an intern in Washington, D.C. with (then) Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth, as an administrative intern for the City of Sun Prairie, WI, and as a development intern with Kishwaukee College Foundation. In addition, he earned an A.A. Degree in English/Humanities from Rock Valley College, a B.A. Degree in Community Leadership & Civic Engagement from NIU, and is currently working toward a Master’s Degree in Public Administration through NIU.
