Freeport CF awards grant for music & arts

 

Freeport CFThe Freeport Community Foundation Board of Directors awarded a $1,000.00 grant from the Ian Murphy-Mitchard Fund for Music & Arts to the Boys and Girls Club of Freeport & Stephenson County at a grant reception on December 4 at the Boys and Girls Club Campus.

This fund was established by Ian’s mother Marilee Murphy Odendahl and step-father Ted Odendahl.  Ian passionately believed in supporting artists and this fund was established in his memory by his friends and family.  This fund supports non-profit organizations located in Stephenson County that encourage artistic expression.    Any individual or group can donate to the Ian Murphy-Mitchard Fund for Music & Arts by contacting the Foundation.

The Freeport Community Foundation has a 40-year history as a community-based charitable organization guided by community leaders dedicated to providing financial solutions for current and future community needs.  501(c) (3) not-for-profit organizations from Northwest Illinois and the surrounding communities are eligible to receive funding.
