The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley has awarded a $15,000 grant to TriCity Family Services, a leading nonprofit mental health provider, to enable the agency to purchase a new server and make renovations to its Geneva office.
For nearly 50 years, TriCity Family Services has been Kane County’s leading provider of counseling and other mental health services to clients of all ages and income levels. The agency specializes in family-based therapy for children and adolescents as well as adult counseling. Other programs include Family-Based Treatment for Eating Disorders, emotional wellness workshops, and employee assistance programs.
The new server will replace the agency’s current servers which are almost 10 years old. A reliable server is an essential component of the agency’s transition to electronic medical records. Renovations made to the 20-year old building will create a more comfortable and welcoming environment for clients and volunteers. The agency serves nearly 4,000 clients each year.
Jim Otepka, Executive Director of TriCity Family Services, shared, “The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a remarkable organization; in my mind, one of the most under-appreciated resources in the mid-Fox Valley. Not only does it provide an effective and highly accountable vehicle through which donors can achieve their charitable giving goals, its grant programs are an invaluable source of support for agencies like TCFS that are often hard-pressed to funded needed capital improvements. We are indebted to the foundation for its steadfast support and honored to share in its mission of service to our community.”
Serving the community since 1948, the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a collection of individual funds and resources, given by local citizens, to enhance and support the quality of life in the Fox River Valley. The foundation allows individuals, businesses, and other non-profit organizations to establish permanent endowment and temporary funds within the confines of one large foundation. Funds are used to provide grants to non-profit organizations and scholarships to area students. The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley serves the Greater Aurora Area, the TriCities and Kendall County.
