Give DeKalb County provides community support to local nonprofits

Donors from DeKalb County and across the globe can support local nonprofit organizations during Give DeKalb County to be held on May 4, 2017. This is the fourth consecutive year that a 24-hour giving day is being coordinated by the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership (DCNP).

“Give DeKalb County is an opportunity to support organizations that work to enhance the quality of life in DeKalb County,” said DCNP Manager, Ben Bingle. “Our three previous giving days have raised over $773,000 and donations have been made from 30 different states and five different countries all over the world. We hope to build on this momentum on May 4.”

Donations can be made from midnight to midnight on May 4 at www.givedekalbcounty.org. Donors may also choose to give by check at the DeKalb County Community Foundation between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on May 4. The minimum donation amount is $5.

A bonus pool of $50,000 was raised ahead of time and each donation made during Give DeKalb County is boosted by a percentage of these additional funds. The bonus pool is made possible by the generous support of Community Partners, including: DeKalb County Community Foundation, State Farm—Keicher Insurance Agency, Morningstar Media Group, The Suter Company, IDEAL Industries, First Midwest Bank, KishHealth System, now part of Northwestern Medicine, the Keleher Family Endowment Fund, Dan and Kathy Schewe, Lynne Waldeland, and Paul Callighan.

Generous local media support has helped spread the word about Give DeKalb County. Media Sponsors include: Shaw Media, Morningstar Media Group, LePrint Express, DeKalb County Online, Orange Peel Gazette, Banner Up Signs, Provident Direct, B95 WDKB-FM, Lehan Drugs, DeKalb County Historical – Genealogical Society, DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce, Sandwich Area Chamber of Commerce, and Sycamore Chamber of Commerce.

“On behalf of nonprofits throughout DeKalb County and the people we are fortunate enough to serve every day, thank you to our Community Partners and Media Sponsors,” said Michelle Donahoe, Give DeKalb County Committee Chair and Executive Director of the Sycamore History Museum. “Your support helps demonstrate that Give DeKalb County is truly community-wide.”
