DeKalb County Community Foundation Grant Seeker Workshop Announced and Current Grant Opportunities

DeKalb CFNonprofit and charitable organizations interested in applying for a grant from the DeKalb County Community Foundation (DCCF) are invited to a free workshop on January 29 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. in The Freight Room at the DeKalb County Community Foundation at 475 DeKalb Avenue in Sycamore.

Attendees will learn valuable tips and strategies to increase their chances of receiving funding from the Foundation’s various grant programs available throughout the year. DCCF Program Staff, Anita Zurbrugg and Becky Zantout, will review the grant programs and corresponding grant guidelines and provide time for questions.

Attendees should RSVP by January 27 by calling 815-748-5383 or e-mailing [email protected].

“With three grant deadlines approaching, it can be confusing for potential applicants to know which grant program is appropriate for their proposal,” says Zantout, “The Grant Seeker Workshop is way for nonprofit and community organizers to improve their understanding of all the grant programs offered at the Community Foundation.”

Youth Engaged in Philanthropy applications must be submitted by midnight February 1 and applications to the Community Needs Grant and the Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation Grant programs can be submitted until midnight March 1. More details and the grant applications can be found online at dekalbccf.org/grantprograms.

Also new in 2016, is the requirement to apply online for a Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation Grant. George Buck, DCCF Arts & Culture Consultant, said, “Moving the Wurlitzer Foundation Grant application to an online system allows us to accept and review applications more efficiently. It will save applicants time and resources.”
